He's not the Messiah he's just a very naughty boy (with apologies to Monty Python!)
After reading thisand in particular the picture from the pastiche of the Last Supper, I was reminded of the above from Rock Dreams. The caption was "You were the king and we were at your crowning".

Is that Chaplin on the pastiche of The Last Supper (from the Bashir doc)? MJ being an interested observer of CC, apparently. It was CC's reclusive nature and skirmishes with the establishment and moral majority which he identfied with, not his left wing politics and London roots obviously
